Description: Demonstration of Native American technique of making maple sugar - stones are heated in a fire, then placed (using deer antlers for tongs) in a hollowed-out log containing maple sap, which gradually evaporates the water and leaves the sugar. Demonstration done at the "Maple Harvest Festival", Beaver Meadow Audubon Center, North Java, NY.
