Creator: Jackson, William Henry, 1843-1942 Date: ca. 1882-1897 Part Of: Lantern slides of Mexico, California and Colorado Description After his employment as official photographer of the USGS ended in 1878, W.H. Jackson opened a commercial studio in Denver. His commissions included advertising photographs for railroad companies, such as the Denver and Rio Grande. This photograph shows a Denver and Rio Grande passenger train stopped on tracks and freight train going in the opposite direction. Physical Description 1 slide: lantern; 8.3 x 10 cm.
