Description: In the Aglionby or Matukituki Valley, looking into the Otapawa. 20th Feb [1846] Shows the Maori guide Kehu snaring a weka with a lure of food on a stick and a long pole with a noose. To the right is a makeshift open-fronted slab hut, a small fire burning outside, with the artist's two European companions, Charles Heaphy and Thomas Brunner reclining inside.
