Description: The Greater Island of Chiloé is a territory located in southern Chile, characterised not only by its cultural and gastronomic tradition, but also by its unique and vulnerable ecosystems. Due to the constant threat of potential industrial-scale projects in that area, studying and monitoring the biodiversity becomes a vital process. In the picture, the scientist Camila Bravo, registers and rings a Striped Woodpecker (Veniliornis lignarius) as part of the Long-term Bird Monitoring Study at Senda Darwin Biological Station.
