She was the third NASA woman to win the award, and is joined by the two previous NASA awardees: Eleanor Pressly (left) and Dr. Nancy Grace Roman (right). Dr. Anderson (1899–1985) headed a research unit on neuroendocrinology at NASA's Ames Research Center from 1962–1969.
