Description: The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's National Limited, at Union Station, Washington, D.C. The B&O's flagship train between Washington and St. Louis, Missouri, it is about to depart a few minutes later, at 6 p.m. Depicted is one of three Rivers-series sleeper-buffet-lounge-observation cars originally built in 1939 by Pullman-Standard for the New York Central Railroad. The B&O acquired these cars in 1956.
