Description: WIPO Director General Daren Tang (right) met on May 31, 2022, with Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Namibia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation. During the meeting, they discussed the role of intellectual property (IP) in helping to drive economic and social development, including towards the country’s overarching framework, "Namibia Vision 2030". The two also spoke about the strength of the local music industry and the launch of the streaming platform DonluAfrica, which is spearheaded by local youth. Mr. Tang pledged WIPO's continued support to work together with Namibia to explore how the organization can help more women innovators and creators use the IP system strategically and effectively.
