Description: Newport: cathedral church of St. Woolos Newport's cathedral is situated on top of a steep hill up from the city centre. It was originally Newport's parish church but became the cathedral of the Diocese of Monmouth in 1949. It is mainly of Norman origin and the tower dates from the 15th century.
