Description: Photograph of a scene from the Federal Theatre Project production of One-Act Plays of the Sea—the Eugene O'Neill cycle now commonly called S.S. Glencairn—at the Lafayette Theatre Cast includes the following: Upper row — Canada Lee (upper row, center) as Yank Lower row — Lionel Monagas (second from left) as Driscoll; Wardell Saunders (second from right) as Smitty Source misidentifies the production as Sweet Land, from notes on reverse side of print. The nautical setting and the presence of these actors, none of whom appeared in Sweet Land, identify the production as One-Act Plays of the Sea. The play ran October 29, 1937 – January 15, 1938, at the Lafayette Theatre. The specific play is likely to be Bound East from Cardiff. The cast of that play, in the order as listed in The New York Times review of October 30, 1937, is as follows: Canada Lee (Yank), Lionel Monagas (Driscoll), William Cumberbatch (Cocky), Joseph Slocum (Davis), Paul Johnson (Scotty), Wardell Saunders (Smitty), Thurman Jackson (The Captain), Edward Fleischer (First Mate)
