Description: Royal Caribbean cruise ship Ovation of the Seas anchored off Picton, New Zealand, on Friday 13 December 2019. Four days prior to this photo, 38 passengers on a shore excursion from the ship were involved in the w:2019 Whakaari/White Island eruption, resulting in the ship being delayed and being diverted to Picton instead of Dunedin and Fiordland. Usually, the ship would berth at Waimahara Wharf, but due to the short notice, it was unavailable. Instead, the ship anchored near Mabel Island and passengers were tendered into the town.
