Description: Bust portrait of Peter Minuit (aka Minnewit) (1580-1638). He was a colonial official, the 3rd Director of New Netherland. Minuit is famous for purchasing Manhattan island from the Native Americans for 60 guilders worth of trade in 1626. The portrait artist is unknown. Made in circa 1904 June 20. However, this is a reproduction of an older painting.
