Description: Pier Towers, Withernsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.Withernsea Pier was completed in 1877. The pier had a troubled history, suffering damage in the storm of 1880 and collisions with its iron girders by many ships in the following years. The large castle gateway erected at the pier entrance is all that now remains of the pier. See Link for some very interesting early photographs of the pier.
