Description: As part of the 200th Celebration "Discover 200 Years of NOAA" day-long community festival held at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab in Alabama, NOAA leadership participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Richard C. Shelby Center for Ecosystem Based Fisheries Management lab. The day-long outreach event attracted 3,000 people, of which many were children who participated in the numerous hands-on education activities provided by NOAA offices from throughout the Gulf of Mexico.
