Description: Praneshwara (Hindu God Shiva) Temple at Talagunda, Shimoga district, Karnataka, India. The temples dates from the fourth century Kadamba rule over the region, based on existing inscriptions of Queen Prabhavati (late 5th century) and her son King Ravivarma (late fifth-early 6th century) at the temple. From the Talagunda Pillar inscriptions, Historian Adiga surmises the temple may have existed even earlier, from the third century rule of the Chudu Dynasty of Banavasi.
