A working dinner was given by José Manuel Barroso to which Jean-Claude Juncker, Luxembourgish Prime Minister and President in office of the Council, Jean Asselborn, Luxembourgish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration, and Javier Solana, Secretary General of the Council of the EU and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), also took part. The talks held at the EC were on two principal points: the contribution of the Union to the promotion of stability in the Middle East, the peace process, Iraq and reform in the region in the broad sense, on the one hand, and the economic relations, on the other.
