Description: Quartz (Var.: Amethyst) Locality: Reel Mine, Iron Station, Lincoln County, North Carolina, USA (Locality at mindat.org) Size: 4.9 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm. An old North Carolina amethyst with fine aesthetics: the crystals are partly colorless and partly gemmy pastel lavender. The crystals sit on a thin matrix of quartz. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
