Description: Ancient Roman Holy Land 1st-3rd century AD lead pilgrim's votive amphora "Ampulla" made in the form of a miniature Roman transport amphora to be brought back from a sacred place as a souvenir usually containing Holy water from that source. Gray patina with light earthen deposits; 45 mm (1.77") high by 32 mm (1.26") wide at the handles. (Both sides shown)
