Description: Two Leyte "roscas" (or rosca pieces) joined together on a plate for presentation. Each piece is so-called (roscas) likely as a corruption (or misuse) of the Spanish plural word roscas. Molded as a whole rosca (or ring) before baking, the Leyte rosca would traditionally be halved before it is pushed into the oven, thus complicating the use of the plural Spanish word in referring to what would actually just be a half of the Leyte rosca.
