Description: In 1940s segregated Houston there were only 175 hospital beds set aside for the city’s black population. To help fill the need donations were solicited and Saint Elizabeth's Hospital was built as a one story structure. It was later expanded substantially. Currently it is abandoned. Recently there was talk it was to be made into condominiums but that seems to have disappeared.
