Description: The town of Monohan, Washington is located on Lake Sammamish, four miles north of Issaquah. It was named for a local farmer named Martin Monohon but map makers misspelled the name. During the 1910s, the residents of Monohan produced dairy products, worked at a boat factory or were involved in the lumber industry. This photographic postcard, probably made around 1910, shows Monohan's saw and planing mill on the shore of Lake Sammamish. The shallow water is crowded with floating rafts of logs for the mill. Subjects (LCTGM): Lumber industry; Mills; Waterfronts; Logs
