The enclosure of the village of Bangkok represented in the lower left corner (M) is today's Thonburi. General Desfarges survived a four-month siege by the Siamese (C) in the French fortress (A) in Bangkok, in 1688. On the river in the right side is a Siamese ship. The bottom right corner is a map of the Chao Phraya River. Folding plan of Banko Fortress (Bangkok) made by Jean Vollant des Verquains (1658-1729). He was a French architect and engineer, inspired by Vauban's works. From the first edition of the French book: "Histoire de la revolution de Siam. Arrive'e en l'anne'e 1688." Publisher: "A Lille, chez Jean Chrysostome Malte, Imprimeur jure, rue Equermoife, au bon Pafteur 1691."
