Description: Theodore Roosevelt's Birthplace, a National Historic Site, at 29 East 20th Street, between Broadway and Park Avenue, in Manhattan, New York City. The original building, built in 1848, was demolished in 1916, and rebuilt in 1923 as a replica of the house's state in 1865. Roosevelt was born here in 1858 and the family lived here until 1872, when they moved uptown.
