Description: Tholymis tillarga male Tholymis tillarga, the Coral-tailed Cloudwing, is a medium sized red dragonfly with brown and white hindwing patch. The female lacks the white patches on hindwings compared to the male. A crepuscular dragonfly, active at the time of sunset and sometimes at sunrise. This fast flying dragonfly is very difficult to follow. During midday, however, it will hang itself vertically and inactively under the leaf at shady habitats. This is the best time to take some good shots of this guy. It is almost impossible to approach them from front; this is a stretched out from behind shot and she flew away instantly when a bit of me fell into her eyes. :) Taken at Kadavoor, Kerala, India.
