Description: "Totem Pole - Pioneer Square". The current totem pole in this location is a replica of the one shown here. Pioneer Square, Seattle, Washington. Behind the pole is the Pioneer Building (still standing).
Title: Totem Pole - Pioneer Square - 1907
Credit: Artwork of Seattle and Alaska, 1907, W. D. Harney Photogravure Publisher, Racine, Wisconsin. Copied by taking a photograph of a page in a copy of the book at Seattle Public Library (Seattle Room of the Central Library); image cleaned up using GIMP, mainly using the perspective transform feature. This was a bit tough, because the pages did not lie flat, and of course one cannot press on things in a rare book, so I had a log of curl to deal with.
Author: Photo not clearly credited. (Expired) copyright was W. D. Harney, but that's the publisher.
