Description: ARCTIC OCEAN (March 17, 2007) - During the warmest part of the day, a thermometer outside of the Applied Physics Laboratory Ice Station's (APLIS) mess tent still does not break out of the sub-freezing temperatures. APLIS is located 180 nautical miles off the north coast of Alaska and is home to the ICEX-07, a U.S. Navy and Royal Navy exercise being conducted to demonstrate the nations’ commitment to assuring access to all international waters.
