Description: A half-length portrait which depicts the sitter facing left and wearing a vice-admiral's undress uniform of 1795–1812, with the star and ribbon of a Knight Bachelor. As a flag officer under Admiral Duncan in the North Sea, he received the surrender of the remains of the Dutch fleet in the Vlie in 1799. This painting is thought to be a later copy.
