List of knights companion of the Order of the Bath facts for kids
The Order of the Bath is a special group of knights in Britain. It was started again by King George I of Great Britain on May 18, 1725. This list shows the men who became "Knights Companion" of this Order from that date until January 2, 1815. During this time, the Order had the king, a "Great Master," and 36 Knights Companion. These knights used the letters KB after their names. If a knight was still alive when the Order changed in 1815, they automatically became "Knights Grand Cross" and used the letters GCB instead.
First Knights of the Order of the Bath
These were the very first knights to join the Order of the Bath when it was restarted. Most of them were officially welcomed on May 27, 1725, and then formally installed on June 17, 1725.
