Description: Video of Victor Alm at the Oakland Zoo talking about their role in an effort to save the endangered Mountain yellow-legged frog from a deadly fungal disease known as chytrid. In the last 15 years, a fungal disease known as chytrid has led to the extinction or decline of over 200 species of frogs and salamanders, including species in our region. The Service is partnering with the National Park Service, the San Francisco and Oakland Zoos and others to counter the rapid and severe decline of the Northern California Distinct Population Segment of mountain yellow-legged frogs. The photos and video in this album represent one such effort. More information is available at www.fws.gov/sacramento.
