Description: Original description: The proposal to erect a big bridge across the Auckland Harbour from Ponsonby Wharf to Chelsea is again engaging attention. The matter was brought up at the last meeting of the Waitemata Chamber of Commerce when it was stated that the Harbour Board had considered the project some years ago. Plans were then drawn up but the Government when approached on the question of financial assistance had decided that the time was not ripe for a work of such magnitude. Consequently the idea was abandoned until the meeting of the Chamber of Commerce referred to, and it will now form the subject of investigation by the executive of that body.
