The Impian Kite is a super-sized, hand-made inflatable kite from Malaysia. It's so big that it holds a record in the Malaysia Book of Records! Since 2004, it has been known as the largest of its kind. This amazing kite measures about 16.7 meters (55 feet) wide and 36.4 meters (119 feet) long.
This giant kite was created by a group of friends in Melaka, a city in Malaysia. They wanted a huge kite but couldn't find one to buy. So, they decided to make it themselves!

How the Impian Kite Was Made
A Big Idea from Small Beginnings
The friends used a regular Singer sewing machine to stitch together this massive kite. They designed it using only paper and their imagination. The main person who sewed most of it was Edmund Cheong.
The Creative Team Behind the Kite
Other friends also helped make the Impian Kite a reality. Lim Kok Tiong, Koh Hong Guan, Chong Swee Ching, Lee Poh Choon, and Nicholas Cheong were all part of the team. They helped with ideas, sewing, gathering materials, finding space to work, and dedicating their time.

Meet Team Impian
Today, the group of friends who made the kite are known as Team Impian. They are a team of kite-flying enthusiasts. You can often find them flying their kites regularly at Pantai Klebang in Melaka.
Where the Kite Flies
Team Impian also travels to different events. They regularly fly their impressive kite at the Bintulu Kite Festival. This festival is also known as the Borneo International Kite Festival, and it takes place in Bintulu, Malaysia.
