Before that, she served in the New York State Assembly for the 60th district. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Early Life and Education
Inez Barron was born in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York. She has been involved in community work since the 1960s. She went to Hunter College at the City University of New York. There, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology. Later, she studied at Bank Street College of Education. She received a Master of Science degree in Reading and Special Education.
Career as an Educator
Before becoming a politician, Barron was a teacher for over 36 years. She taught in the New York Public Schools. Her long career in education shows her dedication to helping young people learn.
Entering Politics
