Ingela Strandberg is a Swedish writer, born on February 26, 1944. She writes many different kinds of books, including poetry and stories for children. She is also a playwright, translator, journalist, and musician! She became well-known for her novel The Man who Thought he was Fritiof Andersson in 1983.

About Ingela Strandberg

Ingela was born in Grimeton, a place near Varberg in southern Sweden. Her poems often talk about the beautiful landscapes of her home.

She started her writing career in 1974. At first, she focused mostly on poetry. Some of her poems have even been translated into English and French!

Ingela is also interested in music. She released a CD called "Låt dom aldrig ta dig" (Don't Ever Let Them Take You) in 2000. She also wrote a TV show called Blank päls och starka tassar (Shiny Coat and Strong Paws) in 1993. Her most recent book of poetry, The Great Silence of Sirius' Nose, came out in 2014.

Ingela Strandberg has won important awards for her writing. In 2009, she received the Dobloug Prize. In December 2014, she was given the Bellman Prize by the Swedish Academy. This award recognized her amazing contributions to Swedish poetry.
