Ingomar, Ohio facts for kids
Ingomar is a small, quiet place in Preble County, Ohio, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community," which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
A Glimpse into Ingomar's Past
Ingomar began to grow around the year 1886. This was an exciting time because a railroad line was built and reached this area. The railroad helped connect Ingomar to other places, making it easier for people and goods to travel.
Just a few years later, in 1889, a post office was opened in Ingomar. This was very important for the community! It meant people could send and receive letters and packages right there, instead of having to travel to a bigger town. The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1958.
