Ingrid Stenmarck (born 5 February 1917 – died 30 December 2011) was a talented Swedish swimmer. She became famous for her amazing skills in the pool during the 1930s.
A Champion Swimmer
Ingrid Stenmarck was a true champion in the sport of swimming. She was especially good at the 100 metres freestyle race. This is a fast-paced swimming event where swimmers use the freestyle stroke.
From 1933 to 1937, Ingrid was the Swedish national champion in the 100 metres freestyle. This means she was the best swimmer in Sweden for that event for five years in a row! Winning a national championship is a huge achievement. It shows how dedicated and skilled she was in her sport.
