The Institut supérieur de l'automobile et des transports (ISAT) is a special engineering school in France. It was started in 1991. This school is part of the University of Burgundy. ISAT is the only public engineering school in France that focuses only on automotive (cars and transport).
What You Can Study at ISAT
Students at ISAT can earn different French and European degrees. These degrees help them become engineers. The main programs are:
- The Ingénieur ISAT degree. This is a Master's program for engineers. It has a special quality mark called the EUR-ACE label. This label means the program meets high European standards.
- A Master of Science degree. This is another advanced degree for specialized studies.
Learning and Student Life
Learning and research at ISAT are done mostly in French and English. This helps students from different countries. Students from about a dozen different countries study here.
About 1000 engineering students attend ISAT. Many of them live in special buildings near the school. These buildings are close to research labs and public transport.
Important Research at ISAT
ISAT also does important research in transport and automotive fields. Their main research areas are:
- Energy, Propulsion, and Environment: This looks at how cars use energy. It also studies how vehicles affect the environment.
- Intelligent Vehicles: This area focuses on smart cars. It includes new technologies like self-driving cars.
- Durability and Composite Structures: This studies how strong materials are. It also looks at how long they last in vehicles.
- Vibrations & Transport Acoustics: This area examines sounds and vibrations in vehicles. It aims to make transport quieter and smoother.
