The Institut supérieur de l'automobile et des transports (ISAT) is a special engineering school in France. It was started in 1991. ISAT is part of the University of Burgundy campus. It is the only public engineering school in France that focuses on automotive (cars, trucks, and other vehicles).
At ISAT, students can earn important French and European degrees. These include the Ingénieur ISAT degree, which is like a Master's program for engineers. They can also get a Master of Science degree.
Students at ISAT learn and do research in French and English. Many students from different countries study here. About 1000 engineering students live in special buildings close to the school. These buildings are also near research labs and public transport.

What Students Research at ISAT
Students and teachers at ISAT work on exciting research projects. Their goal is to make cars and transport better and safer. Here are some of the main areas they study:
Energy, Propulsion, and Environment
This research area looks at how vehicles move. They study different types of engines and fuels. They also work on making vehicles use less energy. This helps protect our planet by reducing pollution.
Intelligent Vehicles
This part of the research focuses on smart cars. These are vehicles that can help drivers or even drive themselves. They use computers and sensors to understand their surroundings. This research helps make driving safer and easier.
Durability and Composite Structures
Here, researchers study how strong and long-lasting car parts are. They work with new materials called composites. These materials are often lighter and stronger than traditional ones. This helps make vehicles safer and more efficient.
Vibrations & Transport Acoustics
This research area deals with sounds and shaking in vehicles. They try to make cars quieter and more comfortable. They also study how vibrations affect the parts of a vehicle. This helps improve the overall quality of cars and other transport.
