The International Leaders Programme (ILP) is a special program designed to help young people from different countries become strong leaders. This program is organized by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, which is a part of the Government of the United Kingdom that works with other countries.

What is the International Leaders Programme?

The International Leaders Programme (ILP) brings together promising young leaders from many countries. They come to the United Kingdom for important meetings and visits. How the Programme Started

The ILP began in March 2013. It was started by William Hague, who was the UK's Foreign Secretary at the time. A Foreign Secretary is like a country's top diplomat, dealing with other nations. The idea was to find people who could become important leaders in their home countries. Then, they would be invited to the UK to learn and share ideas.

Since it started, the program has welcomed participants from 100 different countries. The group of people who have completed the program, called "alumni," has grown to over 350 members.
