Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Interwine China, also known as the China (Guangzhou) International Wine & Spirits Exhibition, is a major trade show held in China. It is organized by a company called Canton Universal Fair Group Ltd.

This event started in 2005. This was a special year because the cost of bringing wine into China (called customs duty) dropped a lot, making it easier for businesses to import wine. Interwine China is a place where companies show off their wines and spirits. They also display related products and services from different countries. It's a special event just for businesses to meet and trade with each other.

What is Interwine China?

Interwine China is the biggest international wine exhibition in China. It is the only wine and spirits fair allowed to be held at the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center in Pazhou. This show is completely focused on the wine and spirits industry. It brings together all the important people in the country who deal with wine and spirits. This includes importers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers. Big buyers like hotels, airlines, and restaurants also attend.

Connecting Wine Businesses

Interwine has the largest network of Chinese wine importers in mainland China. More than 60% of the imported wine in China goes to the Guangdong area. This makes Guangdong a very active place for the wine business. It has many importers and distributors.

Special Events and Roadshows

During and before the main exhibition, Interwine also organizes special events. These include professional wine tastings and forums. They invite different wine experts to share their knowledge at these events.

Interwine also helps businesses connect with each other. They organize special promotional events and "Roadshows" in many different Chinese cities. Since 2008, Interwine has also arranged trips for Chinese importers to visit wineries in other countries. Thanks to Interwine, importers have visited countries like France, Spain, Italy, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, Israel, Romania, and Moldova.
