Isabella of Castile (1283–1328) was an important princess from Castile, a kingdom in what is now Spain. She became the Queen of Aragon when she married King James II. Later, she became the Duchess of Brittany after marrying Duke John III.

Early Life and First Marriage
Isabella was born in Toro, Spain, in 1283. She was the oldest daughter of King Sancho IV of Castile and Queen María de Molina.
When Isabella was only eight years old, she married King James II of Aragon. This happened on December 1, 1291, in the city of Soria. King James was much older than her, at twenty-four years old. This marriage was never fully completed.
Marriage Annulment
Isabella's father, King Sancho IV, died in 1295. After his death, King James II decided to change his plans. He wanted to make new political friends. Because of this, he had his marriage to Isabella officially cancelled. King James then married another princess named Blanche of Anjou.
Second Marriage and Later Life
Isabella remained unmarried for about ten years after her first marriage ended. In 1310, she married her second husband, Duke John III of Brittany. They were married in Burgos, Spain.
Isabella and Duke John III did not have any children together. Isabella passed away in 1328. She was buried at Prières Abbey.
