The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate Series
In 2009, her first novel was published. It was called The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. This book tells the story of a young girl named Calpurnia. She is growing up in Texas in 1899. Calpurnia learns about what it means to be a woman back then. She also learns about science and nature from her grandfather.
This book was very popular. It was named a Newbery Honor Book. This means it was a runner-up for the important Newbery Medal. A second book about Calpurnia was published in 2015. It is called The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate. It also received great reviews.
