Jacques Languirand was best known for his radio show called Par 4 chemins. He hosted this show on Radio-Canada for an amazing 42 years! This made him a very familiar voice to many people across Canada.

Jacques Languirand received two very important awards from Canada. These awards recognize people who have made a big difference to the country.
- He became a Member of the Order of Canada (C.M.) on December 21, 1987. This award is for people who have done great things for Canada.
- Later, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada (O.C.) on May 8, 2003. This is an even higher honor, given to those who have shown outstanding achievement and service.
Acting on the Big Screen
Even though he was famous for radio, Jacques Languirand also became a known actor. In 2012, he starred in the science fiction movie Mars et Avril. This film was based on popular graphic novels.

Jacques Languirand passed away in Montreal on January 26, 2018. He was 86 years old and had been living with Alzheimer's disease.
