Jaime Enrique Alas Morales (born on July 30, 1989) is a professional football player from El Salvador. He plays as a midfielder for the Liga Nacional club Guastatoya.
Jaime Alas's Club Journey
Jaime Alas started his professional football journey in July 2006 when he was just 16 years old. He signed with a Salvadoran club called San Salvador.
Soon after, he moved to Argentina to play for the reserve team of River Plate, a famous club. He stayed there for four years. In 2010, he returned to El Salvador and joined Luis Ángel Firpo.
In June 2012, Jaime signed a three-year contract with Rosenborg, a team in Norway. He joined them in August 2012 and played his first game in a Europa League Qualification match.
After playing seven matches for Rosenborg, he moved to the San Jose Earthquakes in the United States in July 2013 on a loan deal. This loan lasted until December. After his loan, he joined a Mexican team called Ballenas Galeana. In 2014, he moved back to El Salvador to play for FAS.
From 2015 to 2023, Jaime played for Municipal in Guatemala, where he played over 300 games. He then played for Antigua before joining Guastatoya in 2024.
Playing for El Salvador
Jaime Alas first played for the national team of El Salvador in October 2010. This was a friendly match against Panama.
He was chosen to train with the senior team for the 2011 Central American Cup. He played in this tournament and scored his first goal for El Salvador on January 14, 2011, against Nicaragua.
Jaime also played in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup. A very exciting moment happened on March 26, 2012. He scored a goal in the last minutes of the game against the United States. This goal helped El Salvador reach the semi-finals of the 2012 CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament. He has played over 75 games for his country.
