James Bruce was also related to the famous Scottish king, Robert the Bruce, who was a hero in Scottish history. This connection came through his great-grandfather, Archibald Bruce. Archibald married Margaret Bruce, who was the only daughter of Robert Bruce of Wester Kennet. This marriage helped continue the family line. James Bruce also had a connection to Robert II, another Scottish king, through his family tree.

Later Life and Passing

James Bruce passed away on September 19, 1749. He was buried in a church called All Hallows Staining in London, England. His wife, Keturah, also passed away later in 1775 and was buried in the same place. Keturah was the daughter of Joseph FRENCH and the sister of Elizabeth FRENCH.
