Reverend James Moore Sr. (born February 1, 1956 – died June 7, 2000) was a famous American gospel singer. He was born James Leslie Moore. He passed away in 2000 when he was 44 years old.

Reverend James Moore's Music Career

In his early years, James Moore learned a lot from gospel music legends. These included Dr. Mattie Moss Clark and Rev. James Cleveland. He also learned from Richard "Mr. Clean" White. The Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) also helped shape his career.

Becoming a Household Name

During the 1980s and early 1990s, James Moore had many popular gospel songs. He became very well-known among people who loved gospel music. His songs often topped the music charts.

Overcoming Challenges

In the mid-1990s, James Moore faced serious health problems. These challenges made it difficult for him to move around. They also affected his eyesight. Despite these difficulties, he was determined to keep singing and sharing his music.
