James Pennington, also known as Suburban Knight, is a talented DJ and music producer. He is part of Underground Resistance (UR), a music company based in Detroit, United States. Music created by Pennington and other UR members was featured in the video game Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition. This game is set on the streets of Detroit.
Early Music Career
James Pennington started making music in the mid-1980s. He was one of the first artists to create the unique "Detroit techno" sound. This type of electronic music is known for its deep and sometimes mysterious feel. He created early tracks like "The Groove" that helped define this new sound.
Working with Underground Resistance
In the early 1990s, the Detroit techno music scene grew even bigger. James Pennington became an important guide for Mike Banks and the Underground Resistance group. He helped them develop their music.
With Underground Resistance, he released popular singles such as "Nocturbulous Behavior" and "Dark Energy". He also appeared on a music collection called Depth Charge, Vol. 3 from the Submerge label. In 1998, he produced songs for Underground Resistance's album Interstellar Fugitive.
Solo Album
James Pennington also released his own album called My Sol Dark Direction. This album was highly praised by music critics. It included some of his classic songs and new music that had not been released before.
