What is the Legislative Assembly?
The Legislative Assembly of Nunavut is like the parliament for the territory of Nunavut. It is where elected members make laws and decisions for the people living there. Members are chosen by voters in different areas.
Nunavut uses a special system called a consensus government. This means there are no political parties like in other parts of Canada. Instead, all elected members work together. They discuss issues and make decisions by agreeing as a group. This helps them focus on what is best for Nunavut.
