Jennifer Sullivan (born 1945) is a talented writer from Wales. She writes exciting stories for both children and adults. She used to be a book critic, which means she reviewed books. Jennifer is most famous for her Magic Apostrophe series, which are fantasy books for kids. She has also won a special award called the Tir na n-Og Award more than once!
About Jennifer Sullivan
Jennifer Sullivan was born in Cardiff, Wales, in 1945. Her father, Frederick, was an electrician, and her mother, Phyllis, was a writer of short stories.
When her children were young, Jennifer worked as a book critic. She has always loved writing fiction. At first, she mostly wrote short stories for adults.
Her Books and Awards
Jennifer has written many popular books. Most of these are great for kids aged 7 to 12. Her stories often include Welsh themes, making them extra special. She frequently visits primary schools in Wales. There, she opens events and signs her books for young readers.
In 1993, Jennifer received the Irma Chilton Bursary. This award helps new children's writers and comes from the Welsh Arts Council.
Her book Tirion's Secret Journal won the 2006 Tir na n-Og Award. This award is for the best English-language book of the year with a Welsh background. Jennifer won the award again in 2012 with her book Full Moon.
Jennifer lived in Raglan, Monmouthshire for most of her life. Now, she lives in Brittany, France. She is married and has three grown-up daughters: Kirsty, Tanith, and Stephanie. Interestingly, Tanith is also the name of a character in Jennifer's Gwydion Trilogy!
