Jérôme Lagarrigue (born August 18, 1973) is a talented French painter. He creates amazing art and lives in New York City.

Jérôme's Story

Jérôme Lagarrigue was born in Paris, France. His dad was an illustrator and painter, and his mom was a journalist. Growing up, he went to school in France. But he spent his summer breaks in New York City. This is where he lives now.

He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. He focused on illustration and finished his studies in 1996. Just two years later, the Parsons School of Design asked him to teach drawing and painting.

In 2002, Jérôme won a special prize. It was the John Steptoe Award for New Talent. He earned it for his amazing pictures in the book Freedom Summer.
