Jerry O'Sullivan is a talented American musician. He is especially known for playing the bagpipes. He was born in New York City.

When he was young, Jerry first learned to play the Great Highland bagpipes. These are the large bagpipes often seen in Scotland. Later, after visiting his family in Dublin, Ireland, he started playing the uilleann pipes. These are a different type of bagpipe, common in Irish music.

In the 1980s, Jerry joined a famous group called Green Fields of America. He played alongside other great musicians like Seamus Egan, Eileen Ivers, and Mick Moloney.

Jerry O'Sullivan has played on more than 90 music albums! He has worked with many different artists. For example, he played on Dolly Parton's album Heartsongs: Live from Home. He also worked on Bones by Susan McKeown.

Jerry played on two albums by the talented fiddler Eileen Ivers. These albums were Wild Blue (from 1996) and Crossing the Bridge (from 1999).

His Own Music

Jerry O'Sullivan has also recorded five of his own albums. These are called solo albums. His first solo album, The Invasion, came out in 1987. Later, he released The Gift in 1998. In 2005, he put out O'Sullivan Meets O'Farrell.

More Recent Albums

In 2008, Jerry recorded O'Sullivan Meets O'Farrell: Volume II. This album was made in Newport, Rhode Island. He worked with baroque cellist Audrey Sabattier-Cienniwa and harpsichordist Paul Cienniwa. They played a musical part called basso continuo. This album was released in July 2010.

In 2018, Jerry released another album called The Killasser Flute / An Fheadóg Mhór Chill Lasrach. This album features flute music. He recorded it after receiving two flutes as gifts. These flutes came from a flute maker named Michael Cronnolly in Killasser.
