Jesse Genet was born on December 14, 1987. She is an American businesswoman. Jesse is known for being the co-founder and CEO of Lumi. Lumi is a company that makes packaging and other branded items for online businesses.
Early Life and Education
Jesse Genet grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. When she was 16, she started her first business. She printed T-shirts in her basement. This company later became known as Inkodye. Jesse became the CEO of Inkodye in 2010.
She later went to the ArtCenter College of Design. There, she met Stephan Ango. He would become her business partner and a key person in her future company.
Starting Lumi
Jesse Genet started Lumi in 2012. Before that, she ran several Kickstarter campaigns. These campaigns helped her raise money for her ideas between 2009 and 2012.
She even tried to get a deal on the TV show Shark Tank. She didn't get a deal there. But Jesse was still able to get money to grow her company. She got help from a program called Y Combinator.
Lumi's Growth and Customers
By 2015, Lumi was doing very well. The company had over $2.5 million in sales. They sold products across the United States and in 20 other countries. Some of their customers include popular brands like MeUndies, Parachute, and Tuft & Needle.
As of 2018, Lumi had completed 18,000 projects. They had also shipped 25 million packaging items. This shows how much they help online stores with their packaging needs.
Personal Life
Jesse Genet is married to Ryan Hudson. Ryan is also a successful entrepreneur. He is the co-founder of a company called Honey.
