Jetix was a TV channel brand that showed lots of action and adventure cartoons. It was owned by Walt Disney, a famous entertainment company. Jetix channels were available in many countries around the world. They started in 2004 and most of them stopped broadcasting by 2009. A few channels, like those in the Netherlands and Russia, stayed on air a little longer, until 2010. Jetix took over from another popular channel called Fox Kids and was later replaced by channels like Disney XD or Disney Channel.
Other Cool Jetix Channels and Shows
Besides the main Jetix channel, there were other special services that used the Jetix name. These included channels for younger kids and special blocks of shows.
Jetix Play
Jetix Play was a TV channel that replaced another channel called Fox Kids Play in many parts of Europe. This channel mainly showed cartoons for younger children, like pre-school shows. Jetix Play channels stopped broadcasting in most countries by August 2010. However, in Romania, it stayed on air until March 2011 before changing its name. In many places, it was replaced by a channel called Playhouse Disney. In the United Kingdom and Russia, Jetix Play did not get a direct replacement channel.
Jetix Action Block
The Jetix Action Block was a special section of shows that aired on another TV channel called Star One in Spain. This block started in 2007. It mainly showed the same action-packed cartoons and shows that were popular on the main Jetix channel. This special block of shows stopped airing in both regions in 2010.
Jetix +1
Jetix +1 was a special service available in the United Kingdom and Italy. It was a "timeshift" channel. This means it showed the exact same programs that were on the main Jetix channel, but exactly one hour later. This allowed viewers to catch their favorite shows if they missed them on the main channel.
